I am week 19 today! Mommy hasn't been updating, cos' she's busy coping with her backaches and shredding papers in the office.
The first trimester has been long over, but mommy still pukes when she steps into the toilet or poke the toothbrush into her mouth. Awww..
Anyway, mommy finally found out at week 17, that I am a lil' prince : ) Although all the baby girls on the streets suddenly look cuter, and the dresses at bb zara look so much sweeter than the guy jumpers, I believe mommy will still love me : D Did I mention that the first things she bought for me were tonnes of books from Borders. How stressful can that get? Haha!

Mommie has been feeling quite down.

First, her nausea is still sticking around, and she's still feeling her energy sapped by all the puking and giddiness everyday.

Second, she finally received the letter of acceptance from NIE. She's been offered a place for the masters course that she was originally planning to embark on next year. But upon receiving the package, it finally dawned on her that she may well be spending about 5k+ and not be able to complete the modules. She's still not quite sure if there would be any birth related complications in the third trimester (ya, who would know!), and if she would be able to sit thru' the lessons and faithfully complete her assignments. It's been her dream to go further her studies so that she could do something else rather than just teach. And she's been starting to enjoy the job she's doing. But now, she's got to make that decision to decide what her career's going to be in the future. That's pretty tough.

She's thus also weighing losing the 5k+ (if she cant complete the modules) and losing 4 months of maternity leave pay (which amounts to more than 10k), against going back as a teacher (and getting all the benefits, aka money) and possibly staying as a teacher for a while.

It doesn't help when granny keeps harping on the fact that she's a woman and shd just go back to teaching, be contented with meagre pay (not that an EP at PSB earns a lot tho'), and give her family more priority.

Yes, mommie is terribly stressed now. She's gotta make a decision (again), and it's possibly a lifetime decision. While many say studies can probably wait, no one could possibly understand that if she goes back to school now, she probably has no chance to work at PSB anymore (not to say it's entirely enjoyable working there, but mommie does get a chance to work on more needy cases), and that it'd take her a while before she could get back to school again to fulfil her long term goal of becoming an educational psychologist.

However, there's also a voice in her to tell her to just go back to school, get her pay, and be contented with life.

Sigh. Such is life, full of uncertainties. Dreams and goals versus reality. How miserable!

8-9 weeks

Mommie hasn't blogged for a while, but life has been pretty much the same for her.

I.e., sleep, wake, bathe, eat, burp, puke, go to work, puke, puke, puke, eat, puke, see stars, struggle, eat, puke, puke, puke, go home, eat, puke, puke, bathe, sleep.

How interesting.

Her weekends have been confined to home. She can't go anywhere without feeling unwell. Sigh.

How long will this ordeal last? :(

Looking ahead, her supplies of daily office wear and make-up are all running low. She desperately needs some shopping to be done!!! =( sobz.

There are many other changes (other than puking, burping and feeling giddy) that Mommie is trying to grapple with - staying with Granny now, she has to go back to her living habits prior the day she got married. She's now enjoying the benefits of having people to cook all meals, wash her clothes, and to make sure she eats.

The other change is that mommie no longer can wear many of her skirts and dresses =( She really doesnt' know what to do. Her tummy gets bloated and all her pants cannot be worn. I think she'll bug daddie to go shopping with her (when she is more able to walk around for long periods of time) soon : ). More importantly, she wonders how she's going to get her figure back after all these.

The other major change is that she has been eating A LOT. She eats and eats and eats and is still hungry! Mommie is on her way to become a big fat pig! *gulps*

Mommie has been feeling terrible for the past week. She dragged herself to work nevertheless, so that she gets to talk to people and has a higher probability of feeling better. She even crawled to NIE for her silly MAAP interview, which is miraculously easy.

Mommie only hopes that things will be better soon. It's only the 6th week. She probably has to endure another 6 weeks of giddy days and nights, nausea, and all the vomitting. She's not been eating a lot to, cos she feels like vomiting, even when she sees her fav chicken wings.

Daddie tries to be nice. And he is. He allowed mommie to move back to her parents place to stay, so that there will be people around all day to take care of her. But Mommie sure misses her surfie and sneefie, and other stuffed toys at home =(

SHe is definitely hoping the ordeal will b over soon, so that she can go home, can eat well, and can go out and play!

Mommie feels slightly better today. How can she not, after being given 5 MCs in a row.

She doesn't remember herself taking so many days off work, officially, like this, for a long time.

It's a good break, to be doing nothing but sleeping, eating, medicating, eating, drinking, peeing, burping, sleeping, eating, burping, medicating, farting, burping, peeing, drinking, peeing, burping, sleeping, burping, sleeping, eating, and eating and eating, and then sleeping again.

Sounds good? Nah! It's definitely not.

Mommie doesnt want to feel giddy all day long. She also doesn't want to feel so terrible. And the worst is, she keeps thinking about nothing but chicken wings, bbq chix wings, drumsticks, chicken rice and roast chicken all day.

Yes, that's what she's been thinking of all day. Other than that, she's been not feeling well, but trying her best to survive.

It's definitely not easy to be expecting. But mommie will hang in there, while she watches her waist grow bigger, and bigger. *gulps*

A Little Surprise. A bundle of Hope. A Gift from God

Daddie was a little in shock, and still in shock, and perhaps in denial.

Mommie too, actually, but she's taking it a little better.

The asking around about gynae actually made her feel better, with so many advice and words of encouragement and excitement from her relatives n frens. She tried very much to contain the information to those who needed to be asked, and therefore those who would know. But daddie din seem happy bout it. Oh well =p

So, it 5 weeks now. Mommie has 35 more weeks to go.

April next year, we'll see baby! : )
