Mommie is down with a bad cold. Doctor says it's not a flu because she's not running a fever. But mommie still feels as bad. And she's making me feel terrible because every time she sneezes, I get a bad fright. In return, I kicked her harder. And I am getting hungry.. it seems like mommie doesn't have an appetite since she's feeling terrible. Mommie, I am hungweee!!! =(

I am hoping mommie will get better soon, and regain some strength. Afterall, she really needs the health and stamina to push me out in less than 5 weeks time. Mommie, take care and hang in there!! : )

It's holiday time for mommie! Erm, sort of, and sort of not.

Mommie was actually feeling quite down last week, cos' she's kind of officially left her workplace. She reckoned she may not be going back anymore, and that she might not be a psychologist ever again, and that's making her feel sad (or more than sad). I think she's going to miss her dear colleagues who are indeed very nice people, some good pals she's made over the last 2 over years, and lastly, all the school work that she's enjoyed.

But, mommie has got me! I made her busy today cos' there was just so much to do to prepare for my arrival. So mommie spent the whole afternoon sweating under the sun (really), just to wash the clothes that people passed to her. There's round two tmr, cos' she's going to wash the new clothes she's bought for me. And she's clearing up her room to make space for daddie, who finally moved his butt and agreed to move over to stay with us. Hrmm, did I mention mommie didn't really sleep last night, not because I was kicking non-stop (no, I was a good boy yesterday), but because she was trying to get used to daddie's snoring again. I think her life is really tormented by the two of us =x

It's week 35 anyway, and I am counting down you know! I am kind of getting excited, that's why I am sleeping lesser, contrary to what the books say. In fact, on saturday, I only slept for one - two hours. The rest of the time, I just couldnt control my excitement and was jabbing mommie on her tummy the whole day and night. I could actually hear mommie yelling, ' Stop it baby, it's painful' and 'Notti baby', and 'If you dun stop that, I won't buy anymore nice things for you'. Whoops. Errr, but that didn't stop me. And that didn't stop her from buying nice things either. Just yesterday, she spent another hundred plus at Taka Baby Fair (again) to buy more nice things for me. Yeah!

Worry not, I wont greet the world yet, not until mommie has packed her hospital bag, met all her frens, done all her shopping and washing, and cleared her room for me. I am real comfy in here! Heh!

I am week 33.5!

Mommie is on leave again today, and tmr. : ) And this Friday marks her 'last' day in the office, and she'll spend the next few weeks waiting for me to pop. Haha! Not sure if she's entirely happy with this decision, except that it gives her an opportunity to wake up later. She's terribly taken back by the heat in the day, and prefers the aircon in the office *sigh*

Anyway, Mommie had great fun shopping at Taka Baby Fair last Friday, and she'd spent over 2oo bucks buying items for me, and she's still regretting not buying more. There are still a few more items to get before she can retire from shopping (actually i doubt she can wean herself off shopping entirely), and then rest at home.

She's been dreaming of horror stories related to labour too, and the baby talk that she attended over the weekend din help -- it showed her horrifying pictures of how epidural is done, and now mommie is sort of not sure if she'd dare to have that thick needle jabbed into the space in her spine *gulps*

It also doesnt help when she couldnt find Morgan's Hypnobirthing book from kino, and Borders doesnt carry this book. Youtube videos don't give her a full picture of how it's going to be done too, so I guess mommie isn't quite confident too that she can hypnotize herself during labour (I think it's a lofty idea too!).

In short, I am not sure if she can endure the labour pains and go entirely on a natural, medicine-free labour. Poor mommie. Perhaps thinking too much about these things is probably the main source of her headaches in the morning.

Anyway, mommie visited Dr Poon on Saturday and much to her disbelief, she's ballooned to 65kg (somehow the weighing scale in her bedroom always paints a rosier picture?!). She's terribly depressed by that, and the nurse din help when she stared at the 20-30 stretchmarks on mommie's tummy and asked (again) if she's been putting on cream. More confusing is the fact that Dr Poon told mommie I'm now 2.1kg, which is on the slightly thinner side (40th percentile or so he said), which means the extra weight mommie has gained is unaccounted for by me =P It's also puzzling because he told mommie 2 weeks ago that I was slightly on the heavier side. In short, i have slimmed down (?!??!).

Sigh. Pregnancy and women. I am glad I am gonna be a boy, who's going to grow up a man. That means I don't have to go thru' the pains of pregnancy and the agonizing labour pains, nor conform to silly societal expectations about being thin or slim. I am SOOOOOOOOOO glad. Haha!

Week 32 : )

Mommie has grown a little lethargic this week (a little is an understatement actually). She's been lunching in office every noon, coercing her colleagues to help dabao for her. I think those girlies must be feeling they are dabao.com soon. Tsk tsk tsk. Hopefully they needn't do this for the next 7 days she's going to work. But I think she's getting very disgusted by her double chin, bloated face, bulging tummy, ugly stretchmarks and oversized boobs (?!?!). Ermmm.. but mommie, that's part of pregnancy and motherhood! I certainly hope she'll come to terms with these facts soon =x

Hrmm Mommie is really getting lazy, but she attributes the pain when she walks to me who is growing fatter. Correction - I am not growing fatter. I am just growing bigger, something which babies do! But I can understand that when I hiccup (which I do more than thrice a day) and when I yawn and stretch myself, I do need a little more space and sometimes I forget that I shouldn't overdo it cos' it will cause mommie pain. Whoops!

Anyway, Mommie and I are really glad that we, or she has finally settled the big items to get for me. Mommie and I are really thankful to Grandma and Grandpa who has sponsored my playpen and stroller, Auntie Shirley for passing us all the things that sister Brianna doesn't need anymore, and Peihan Yee Yee for handing down xiao fan and xiao heng korkor's clothes, Yao Lan, and a lot of other stuffs that will come in useful. We are also thankful to Auntie Michelle for passing us some of sister Shanice's clothes and some clothes that mommie can wear for the last lap. Mommie's colleagues, Auntie Chew Phing has also generously passed her some clothes and a nice infant seat supporter or sth, and Auntie Lin has handed mommie lotsa parenting magazines to read, not forgetting some diapers for me to sample : ) Oh, I shouldnt forget my Godma, who has already bought me some clothes to wear, and given mommie more bottles of cream to calm the red streaks on her tummy. When mommie starts to go on leave, I will make sure she takes fotos of all these hand-me-downs and display them here! Thank you Aunties and Yee Yee!

And mommie got to know that her good pal is 5 weeks pregnant! She's really happy cos' it will mean she'll have another place to bring me to, so that I can make more friends (?!?). Haha! I am really not sure if I'd like that though. For now, I am just happy staying in this cosy dark place, alone : P

9 Weeks or Less to Go...

I am in my 31st-32rd week this week, and guess what? Mommy is on medical leave again, for four daes! She has been hanging in there for the whole two months, but I guess because I was really growing fatter, it's making her feel miserable and uncomfortable again. She's finding it difficult to walk without looking like a duck, painful to walk up stairs, and definitely a chore to drive long journeys. She's also having disturbed sleep patterns again, cos I often forget that I shouldn't sit on her bladder. But I really can't tell cos it's rather dark in here. Whoops.

Dr Poon said I was about 1.8kg last Friday, and that's a little big. Hrmm but I don't think I am obese (though mommy keeps telling her frens that I am! hmph!). I think I am just eating what mommie is eating, and she's probably eating all the wrong things that plumps me up -- ice cream, cakes, chips.. Sigh adults!

Anyway, I am a happie boy! Grandma just bought me a stroller and a playpen last week. Yeah. That's somewhere to sleep, and somewhere to sit in when mommie goes out with me next time. I think mommie has to get a few more items quick, before I say hello to the world, and that's pretty soon. I still can't decide when I wanna greet the world. It's rather cosy in here. So I guess, I will just wait a little longer.

Oh I must not forget to mention, mommie is so looking forward to 2 more weeks, coz it probably marks the end of her career at her workplace. Well, maybe it's not that serious, as in end of a career as a psychologist, but she'll probably need to take a longer time to return to that (she's going back to teach first I think). And she'll not be working till end Nov, and that's a long time. And I sense that she's a little undecided if she'd be happy with this decision -- being stuck with me for the large part of the year and not having an income, versus working and working and working (yawns).

And in short, mommie has about 9 weeks or less to go, before I terrorise her with my cries. I also noe she's been having terrifying thoughts about labour, but I seriously don't know how to calm her down and tell her there's no other way I can move outta my current home without squeezing myself out. Unless, of course, she wants her tummy cut up, which I don't think she would want. =x

So, if you see mommie around, pls tell her to relax and enjoy the last two months of her pregnancy : ) Heh!
