Happy 2011!

Happy New Year everyone!!
I am so looking forward to 2011! Mummy says I will get to have my own room, my own bed, my own mattress, my own wardrobe and we'll get our own house!!! :) Though I think the construction works are being delayed, the latest we shd get our place should be June. Sigh - yes we initially thought we could move in by CNY!! =( Just hope I'll get to celebrate my bd or mummy's bd in our new nest!
2011 is also a special year, cos it's the year I leave my popo to go to a full-day childcare centre. I dun really understand how that works or if the people there are nice, but Mummy says I have no choice but to start being independent and start braving the viruses out there.
Retrospectively, it has been a GREAT year for me. I've learnt to crawl and walk and run and jump and speak all within the last year. That's really a bundle of achievements! In the new year, I hope I'll learn to swim, dance (properly), sing, feed myself, walk up the stairs on my own, count to 100, recite all the letters of the alphabet, spell my favourite things and food, read, play the piano, shower on my own, brush my own teeth, get dressed on my own, do away with my pacifiers, sleep through the night without crying for my pacifiers or crying for mummy, talk more wisely, improve my vocabulary, draw better, paint better, combat more viruses, eat more yummy food (including ice cream) and drive a car on my own.
Whoops. The last one is not very possible, says Mummy. Alright. The rest shall be my new year resolutions. I hope I haven't missed out anything. :)
Have a great year ahead everyone! Life's great! Smile like I do, everyday, all the time!

Merry Christmas!!!!!

It's Christmas Eve today!!
This day has a special meaning cos Mummy and Daddie signed on the (dreadful?) paper 3 years ago, exactly an hour ago, to declare themselves husband and wife.
Yes, it's been 3 years!
Thank God for bringing Mummy and Daddie together, cos without them, there won't be ME!!!
So we'll be celebrating this special day later.. :)
Merry Christmas everyone! Have a Blessed one with your family and loved ones!!

When issit Gonna bE?

We heard we'll gonna be the last block of residents getting the keys to the new flat. What luck, or lack of it! =( When would we get our flat so that we could have our own place?
It's getting unbearable having to put up with others and facing issues labelled 'domestic affairs' by Mommie. I was warned by Mommie to avoid 'washing dirty linen in public/cyberspace', so I cant say much... anyway I am too young to wash dirty linen.
All I can say is..... Uncles at the construction site, can all of u pls work harder so that Cutise Me could have a place of my own soon?!!! Mommie's back is breaking from sleeping on makeshift mattress (i.e. di-lam) for more than a year. They have also started to disintegrate....
Daddie's snores are waking me up at night. And I need my own room to house my toys so that others wont scold me for messing up the hse (mess and kids go together actually).
Hrmm.. mabbe Bob the builder can help me get my flat ready... I shall go ask him in my dreams later....

Hello Auntie Pearly

Here's a nice photo taken with Auntie Pearly when she's back for a super duper short while after her Japan trip. It's so short we could only catch her at the airport to take this picture...
Anyways, take care Auntie Pearly, and I certainly hope to visit you in Melbourne soon. :)

It's Xmas, in 15 days!!

Sesame Street :)

This was the first 'live' show that I've watched and I truly enjoyed it. Mommie was amazed by my ability to watch the show for 30 minutes without wanting to go somewhere else. Of course, she's also amazed by her ability to carry me for 30 minutes without letting me down.
I loved the way cookie monster sang 'C is for cookie' and 'C is for Christmas'. I love cookie and Christmas too. And I was saying 'mo-mo' every time Elmo appeared.

My cheapskate parents didnt spend $30 to let me go on stage to take photos with Elmo though :( Mommie did try to bug Daddie to buy something.. but he declined and said it's the same taking it like THIS. Mommie felt a little guilty after that and said she'd spend $30 next year to let me go on stage. SIGH. I really do hope Elmo comes back next year.

This is me looking very sad cos' we had to leave (and I couldnt go on stage).
But hey, look wad I found after that?! It's Elmo and Big Bird!
*smile*

Angry.

The Famous Two

This is my lovely popo, who has showered much love and care on me in the past 12 months, and me! We are the famous two who are known to every adult and kid along in this whole neighbourhood. From coffeeshop aunties/uncles, provision shop owners, shopkeepers and market stall holders, to the friendly uncles next door(s), no one is unaware of our existence. Mommie is truly amazed by how I have been turned into a heartlander and a coffeeshop junkie.
I'm indeed priviledged to be under Popo's care and I appreciate that she's given up her job just to stay home and be with me. Though she complains to every soul that she's been imprisoned and jailed because she has to be there for me, I'm sure she's savouring every bit of my growing up and cuteness.
It's December already and I would only have till end Feb to be just with PoPo on days Mommie has to work. Then, I'll be off to school. Hrm.. till then, I'll enjoy every bit of freedom I have now, including visiting every shop in the neighbourhood and spending my mornings la-kopi-ing at the kopitiams.. hehehee

When Plans Fail

Reward charts totally dun work for 19 months old. Can I put this evidence-based fact/finding in some psychology textbook and get my name quoted?

Hey, I'm a driver too!

Popo was feeling wrong one day and decided to bring us all to Toyrus to buy me a car. There was no occasion and all she wanted to do was to tell 'people' that I am not under-priviledged as a child and I should have access to big-ticket items that other parents shower upon their children (much to Daddie's disapproval). In short, this is a gesture commonly termed as 'spoiling the child'. Hrmm...
Mommie was neutral but she is delighted by Popo's generiosity. :)
I am by no means spoilt though. I am still a good boy.. hehehehe
This is me in my $200 CAR! Cool?

Now, I'm a driver too, like everyone else in the family!
Thanks Popo! I must remember to be generous towards you too, when I grow up and start earning money!

Mr Yangs

Grandpa Yang, Grandson Yang and Daddie Yang.

How's everybody?!!

This is Mummy and me, looking happy, and a gigantic Xmas tree, and Daddie behind the lens AND his super duper fantastic phototaking skills. Bleah!
Hey, Xmas is coming!!!! I haven't been updating as I've been busy :)
Busy falling sick and busy going to school. Mummy is busy staying sick too. Daddie caught the same bug and so did Popo and Gonggong. What a fantastic month!
Anyways, I'm over 19 months and am so grown up already :D Have you seen me these days? No? Oh dear, how could you to have not received my 'live' flying kiss that's got the loudest 'muackkk' in the whole neighbourhood?! Tsk tsk. Arm ursef with nice xmas pressies (for me) and attend a meet n greet session with me soon ya? Make your bookings through Mommie. Limited slots. First-come-may not -serve-present-big-serve-serve basis :D Hehehe!
This the season to be merrrry!!!! :)

Poor u!

I cannot imagine having to sit here 24/7 like you. Let me give u a pat on your thighs.
Okies, I promise to visit u as often as Mummy would allow me a treat of chocolate sundae and super expensive pancakes (called hotcakes).

I'm 18!!

It's been a great 18 months and I've finally reached the magical age where I am officially labelled a Toddler and can gain access to various childcare centres and enrichment centres (gulps).

We had a great day of celebration on Saturday and here's what we did:
Yummy breakfast at Coffee bean :) Nice scrambled eggs, sausages and toast. I like!

After our scrumptious breakfast, we went home for my lunch (that's how frequent my Mom feeds me). Thereafter I took my nap before we headed out for Jacob Ballas Children Garden @ Botanic Gardens.

It was our first time there and Mommie suggested this place after her failed attempts to get me on any trial classes at those atas enrichment centres (double yawn). Anyway, Jacob Ballas was a great place for me to explore, except that Mommie was screaming 'dirty! dun touch!', 'careful! dun fall!' and 'ahhh mozzies!!' and 'can we go for dinner already, pls', half the time. I conclude that Mommie is not a nature lover, though she claims to be one provided the park is mozzie and ant-free. Erm... aint they also part of nature?

Loads of fun at the sensory park.

We ended up at Dempsey Hill after our uneventful dinner at Botanic Gardens. It's such an atas place (again) with so many high class restaurants, and so the only thing we could afford was probably just Ben and Jerry's ice cream. And so ice cream we had. I had the strawberry cheesecake ice cream and was very high after the sugar intake...This was just one of the many silly things I did that night, in addition to talking non-stop for an hour before bedtime. Mommie wonders what would happen if I had taken rum and raisin ice cream. Hrmmm.....*grinz*

What a wonderful day we had and cheers to many more great days ahead!

Happy children's Day!

Although Mommie had to work and couldnt bring me out today, I had fun with my grandparents :) Mommie bought me lotsa presents to make up for it and I even got a new set of table and chair from Ikea :D She says it's for my new room in our new place which will be ready in a few mths time.
Woo! I can't wait to have my own room! And I'll get to go to the school just downstairs and meet lotsa friends! Hopefully things get will just get better :)
Btw, Happy Children's Day fellow kiddos out there!
I'm gonna celebrate mine with Mommie and Daddie tmr!!

i'm 17 mths!

I turned 17 mths yesterday! I cannot believe that in less than 5 mths time, I will be going to school *sigh*
Anyway, this is a pretty good time to 'document' the words I can speak. Mommie says 'document' is a popular term used by many people in the working world, to provide sufficient evidence to big people labelled 'stakeholders' that one has performed an act. This usually will somehow 'protect' their butts from being wacked or their backs from being stabbed. I cannot imagine how a paragraph of words can protect a big human being.
The whole idea ounds pretty complicated and scary hor? I think I am so not ready for the adult world =P
As I was saying, here are some words/sounds I can articulate:
mama (mom), dad, Popo, Yiyi, dad-dad (Gong Gong), bird, fish, nana (banana), per (apple), ma3(horse), briel (gabriel - that's my name), bar (car), wa wa (frog), kia (teochew - walk/let's go), walk, tutu (pacifier), mum-mum (eat), eat, neh neh (milk), mmmm (delicious), ball, ber (bubbles), tap, moon, key, wer (flower), shoe, boat, ah-ah-ah (monkey), work, mao1 (cat), dag (dog), teetee (auntie), balloon, key, more, jiejie, di-di (brother) and bus.
That's all I could think of right now. I think I have more words in my receptive vocab bank but that's okay. I think I will get to express myself better soon! Like today, popo told mommie that I could say 'mama's car'. That's stringing two words together! Ain't I amazing? :) Hehhehe!

Other milestones in the last month would be holding my bottle on my own for the entire feed. That's an achievement for a lazybumbum like me, though I know it's probably time to stop the bottle altogether. Whoops, but who cares. I can also climb up the stairs and down, with lotsa help from Mommie. I am starting to run though I still fall every time I go too fast. I also like to stamp my feet real fast to pretend I am jumping. Hrmm and my molars are out! It's really painful but Mommie says once they are all in place, I can eat more yummy food! I am really looking fwd to that day :D
Oh btw, I must really boast about myself being able to fix the entire alphabet puzzle on my own, within 5 minutes. Mommie couldnt believe it when Popo told her, till she witnessed it yesterday. Yup, I can put the ABCs all in place. Will snap a picture to show everyone someday!
That's pretty it. Erm, quite a long update, which probably cannot capture the essence of my whole entire enjoyable experience of growing up and adventures each single day!

Happy!

Guess what made me so happy???

Weighing Machine

I'm 10.5kg!
And the figure escalated heaps when Daddie sat beside me.

Wow Daddie, u are about 7 times heavier than me! It's time to share those fries!

What I wanna be when I grow up?!

Dun think Mummy will agree with this though. She wants me to be either (a) a psychologist, (b) a psychiatrist, (c) a speech and language therapist (like auntie nana) or (d) a music therapist.

Hrmm.. I think I have many years to really decide...

Made with love

Mummy is a novice when it comes to cooking.
She can play the piano much better than handling the knife and wok.
But she's trying.
This was the breakfast she made today.
Almost all that I could name - fish, flower (wer wer), bird. And of course, her heart :)
One word -- YUMMY!

My first Dessert at the Mall

Mummy suddenly became very lenient with my diet. She's been allowing me to taste some of the heavenly treats she and daddie have been secretly devouring behind my back. So I got to taste this yummy icecream with red bean and grass jelly at a new dessert place @ Vivocity. It's really YUMMY!
I had my first taste of Mango too. Thumbs up!
Dun worry, Mummy din allow me to touch the glutinous rice. Soon, soon!

Mummy and me!! :)~~
See, we should all grow fat together. It's fairer that way.

Jurong Bird Park

Mummy kept to her promise and brought me to the Bird Park yesterday :D She had promised me the trip to reward me for earning 20 stickers on my sticker chart!

For being good, I got to see all sorts of birds (and stay under the hot sun) for a good 5 hours. We also met up with Jiejie Phylyse and Jiejie Shanice :)

I really enjoyed the trip, though almost all the pictures dun show it. And it was really brave of Mummy to stand under the hot sun with me (and not complain) throughout the trip.
It's time to earn another 20 stickers to get a trip to the Underwater World to see my all time favourite - FISH!!

happie birthday meimei Shauna!

How could I have missed her bd party?!
It's all HFMD's fault!! :(:(
Anyway, Happy belated Bd, pretty =D

It's the GREAT outdooRs with Lotsa Sun for the next Few Weeks!

I am finally well after 4-5 days of ordeal.
Though the ulcers have disappeared and I am left with only 2 spots of rash on my sole, I can't get near other kids.
Mommie did some research and read somewhere that the virus causing hfmd can still be spread 2-4 weeks after it first hits the affected kid. Which translates to say I can't really be near other kids else I would be spreading this terrible disease. That's really scary cos' all childcare centres allow the affected kids to go back to school once their ulcers and fever disappears. It's no wonder the hfmd figures soar rocket high. That's really terrible.
Being so civic conscious, Mommie decided that we should only go to places where I wont get to touch any toys or get near any kids. And there has to be lotsa sun to kill wadever germs or bacteria.
So today, we made our way to ECP and chose a deserted corner for me to walk ard and play with my shadow. Oh ya, and she wiped my hands and mouth with wet wipes every half hour.

The weather was really hot but the breeze made us all feel better :)

I still had lotsa fun :D

And that's us, baking in the sun (can u spot mommie hiding to shield herself away from the sun?).

I guess we'll be visiting this deserted part of ECP quite often in the weeks to come =D

My Reward Chart

Mommie started me on sth big, called a 'behavioural modification plan', two days ago.
She gives me a sticker every time she thinks I behaved well.
I earned a sticker when I don't whine after a bath, and when I slept thru' the night without waking up for milk. She also gave me a sticker when I am generally good.
Hrmmm.. But she says this isn't exactly how the chart works and she's being very nice as she's warming me up for more concrete beh mod in the future.
Sounds like a big plan.
Anyway, I love the fish stickers and I count them every hour. Yes, I boasted to Daddie I hv 7 stickers and he doesnt hv one. :)
Mb mommie shd give Daddie stickers too, to stop him from coming hm late, taking all the time he wants in the toilet, snoring at night and daydreaming. Hee. Okies, Daddie does deserve some stickers too, for clearing the rubbish, feeding me water at night and rubbing Mommie's aching back when she demands he does so. =P
