I am trying to lift my head - Part 2
And pls pardon mommie's terrible croaking of 'Count on me Singapore' at the back.
She's been singing that all week - coz she says it's National Day soon. I suppose she's full of patriotism for the country. I bet shes gonna dress me up in Red and WHITE on that day!
Daddie has been avoiding mommie whenever he hears her sing that song. Tsk tsk tsk.
Oh, and I kinda like the song though :) I love Singapore : )
What I have been doing all week..

Upset
I am so upset because blogspot doesnt allow me to post all the cutsie *blush* pictures of myself to show everyone :(
I am also upset by the rats that have been feasting on the food in GongGong's kitchen. Yes, RATS. They really aint as cute as those in the cartoon Ratatouille.
I am more upset because mommie's diagnosis -- the carpal tunnel syndrome, has kinda been confirmed. She saw the Head of the ortho dept today (finally she gets to see a senior consultant after her years of referral there! Usually she's seen by a medical officer who's more interested to press the next number on the Q). The doctor said mommie needs to do a nerve test (and get needles poked into her palms and arms) to find out if the condition is purely due to repetitive strain at the wrist, or connected to her cervical spondylosis condition. Sadly, the doctor said the condition is irreversible, so she can only reduce the symptoms through occupational therapy. And if the condition worsens, surgery is in the cards. For the moment, she's gotta wesr a splint on each arm, till the nerve test is done, and till the review in 6 weeks.
Whoops.
And mommie has attributed her condition to her 4-hrly pumping sessions and all the carrying-me-around. :/
I am sorry mommie. I promise I will be a good boy (today). :)
Lastly, everyone has been upset and praying hard for Grand aunt who's in hospital and critically ill. Popo doesnt allow me to visit her, and mommie has to take turns with popo to visit her so that there's someone babysitting me. :/
Such a gloomy week. Hope things get better next week!

Down with Fever again
I am down with fever again, after the potent jab. I think 6 in 1 jabs or 5 in 1 jabs aint very good for babies, because they introduce too many viruses into our bodies. But then again, I am not quite sure if that is better than being jabbed many many many times. Although I din cry, it doesnt mean jabs are not painful. There's a red swell on my left butt today. : (
Since the jab, I slept and slept and slept. I missed 3 feedings yesterday and 1 feeding today. Mommie was quite upset throwing away the bottles of milk. Sorry mommie.
Btw, did I mention I was 5.965kg? Was. Because I think I slimmed down these two days. Hrmmm maybe I should have a feast tmr! I wan birds' nest, yam paste, melon ice cream, lychee freeze, rambutan freeze, chocolate cakes and MOS burger cornsoup in my milk!

3 Months Old : )
I am officially 3 mths old tmr! :) Isn't that fast??
I have ballooned from 2.35kg (when leaving the hospital) to 3.9kg (at 1 mth) to 4.2kg (at 1.5mths) to 5.65kg (at 11 weeks/2.5mths). No wonder mommie is suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. It's from all the carrying-me-around. Whoops.
Skills I have acquired this month:
1.Screaming loudly when I am happy and excited - especially when I look at black and white and red patterns. Yes, I squeal, gurgle and coo very loudy, and I like to do it at 5am in the morning. I also smile a lot, at anyone and everyone, to make them happy.
2. Pushing the bottle away with my left hand and pushing the teat out with my tongue when I've enough milk; Trying to hold the bottle with my left hand; smiling at everywhere and anyone while drinking milk -- i.e., get super distracted during mealtimes
3. Differentiating between fresh milk, milk from the fridge and frozen milk. I only drink FRESH milk now (therefore mommie really has no choice but to pump every 4 hours)
4. Finding my thumb again (I lost the skill somehow but relearnt it)
5. Holding my head up for more than a few minutes
6. Keeping poo in me for up to 5 days (mommie calls this constipation)
7. Drool and drool and drool, and sticking out my tongue
8. Developing a cue for hunger, sleep time and constipation -- unfortunately, my cue for all 3 is the same, for now
9. Smile at Winnie the pooh bear (finally - I did it this morning and mommie was amused)
10. Rocking my rocker on my own by kicking and kicking and kicking realllll hard ;)
That's a lot I've learnt this month! I wonder how much I will weight tmr! But I think I am not looking forward to know the figure.. coz it means I will be poked in the butt with a huge needle. Ouch!
[Afternote: I din cry at all during the jab! I even smiled at the doc. The doc was amazed and said that I am a BRAVE boy, and said if only all babies are like me, it'll make his job easier : )]

Dun put me in the Yao Lan plssss...
I think Adults don't know how scary it is to be sleeping in something dangling in the air..Maybe they should just give it a try themselves.
Oh well, but it kinda works. The rocking was so pleasant I drifted to lala land like within minutes.
But no more pls. It's really scary.
I like Circles
Btw daddie, all circles are round. There is no such thing as 'round circle' because if there is, perhaps there would be 'square-circles' or 'rectangular-circles'.
*diaoz*
Lesson Time
Special credits to Uncle Vincent who introduced the website to mommie.
Till today, Granny and Grandpa still cannot understand why I can be so happy looking at black and white patterns. Sigh. Adults.... tsk tsk tsk... (but it's really just like how I cannot appreciate why PoPo likes to look at all the 24 permutations of digits 0 to 9).

Toys, finally!
My first toys were her winnie the pooh bears (duh), and the only ones I have were bought by Peihan Yiyi and Wanhua Jiejie (both from fisherprice) for my baby shower.
When I first wake up in the morning...
Stretch a bit..
and then smile at mommie.
My smiles in the morning really brighten up her day (remember she only gets to sleep 3 hours a day?). I am happiest in the morning, and I smile and 'talk' a lot in the morning.
Mommie told me she hopes I can continue to be happy and smiley with each new day, everyday throughout my life. Hrmmmmm.....

Belated Post - Mommie's Bd
Auntie Lala came specially on mommie's bd to give her sunflowers too, courtesy of her and auntie JOJO. Mommie thinks they are indeed very sweet : )
But I cannot appreciate flowers. They look scary because they look bigger than me, and they cannot be eaten.
Anyway, the day before, Granny brought us out for a meal. No one could be happier than I was :)
Mommie is 29 this year (yes it's not a secret). And she's getting old (remember she was called an auntie?). She knows she's getting old too (besides being labelled an auntie) because she's flipping newspapers daily for promotions on diapers, having real bad backaches and is totally dependent on Salonpas and Bengay everynight, getting slower on the roads (she used to drive at 140km/h), becoming real forgetful (like dozing off and forgetting to wake up to pump milk *grrr), and lately, dropping A LOT OF HAIR. I think she's getting bald soon.
But on a more serious note, mommie is becoming weaker. Her right hand has been numbed for 2-3weeks, and her left hand is starting to become numbed too. Now, she takes a lot longer to change my diaper or get me changed, because her fingers can't really feel much. Yesterday night, she couldn't even feed me properly cos' it was real painful for her when she holds the bottle.
MOmmie, what's happening to you?! Poor you. I promise i will TRY to be a good boy okies?

I am NORMAL...
I haven't been updating.. actually I have got tonnes of fotos to show, but blogspot has turned a lil' cranky somehow and mommie just couldnt upload them for me.
Anyway, for kind uncles and aunties who are very concerned about my well-being, I am happy and weighing a healthy 5.65kg at weeks 11 half. I was 2.49kg at birth, left hospital at 2.35kg, was 3.9kg during my first month, 4.2kg during my first jab at 1 half mths, and now, 5.65kg! I am not FAT btw. I am just chubby.
Mommie has been sleeping slightly more. Slightly means 2 hours at least and no more than 3 hours a day. Isn't that good? I have allowed her another hour of sleep after she's started to cluster feed me from 7pm every night. That means I drink a good 90ml every hour till 10pm and then i doze off and sleep till 1 or 2am. After that, I will wake up for a meal every 2 hours (as usual). : ) I am sorry mommie. I really don't know how to continue sleeping when my tummy is empty.
Thus far, mommie has been quite frustrated as she's gotta bring me to the PD's clinic quite often (for a 2.5 mth old baby, she thinks its VERY often). And the answers she got from the doctors on all the conditions she'd reported were that 'it's very normal'.
First time to the clinic was because I vomitted a lot of milk a lot of times. The PD said it was normal. And the answer she got was it was colic and she received a whole lot of medicine which she din dare to touch and let me take after we got home. That was about hundred over dollars spent.
Second time was because I choked on my milk very often, and I was tearing non-stop (not crying). The PD said I had nasal congestion and the tears were because of the block tear ducts due to the congestion. The doc said it was normal too. And then mommie received the nose spray which Granny din allow her to use (because she thinks I will cry if she sprays into my nose), until mommie started to use it secretly after the night feeds (and I din cry).
Today, I visited the PD again. This time, it's because I am super constipated. I haven't pooped for 5 days (again), and Granny has decided that my bowel removing patterns were something abnormal -- I clear them every 3-5 days and look super constipated in between.
Guess what? The doc again said it's NORMAL. I got something stuck into my ass and then mommie had to clean me up every hour after that. The doc said I dun hv to see him anymore, because it's normal and unless I cry and fuss a lot, it's normal. Yes it's normal.
MOmmie wonders why everything that seems abnormal appears to be normal in the end. Maybe all new parents with newborns should have a guidebook published by MOH so that they don't have to spend unnecessary money at the doctor's. That way, mommies and daddies can save up the money to buy more diapers or TOYS (yeah!) for their children!!
